Here we go, into the New Testament! How is your reading journey coming along? It's hard to keep up when life throws you speedbumps along the way but do your best to incorporate this time into your daily routine (much like brushing your teeth!) and you may just find that it sticks around as a habit after the challenge has been completed!
On to Matthew: Matthew is the Gospel for this lectionary year so some of these stories may already seem familiar to us having heard them recently in a church service or Bible study.
Two of the most recent ones are telling not about miracles themselves, but about who Jesus is.
In the feeding of the five thousand Jesus shows Israel that his blessing is greater than Moses. In the miracle of walking on the water, Jesus shows that he is Lord of *all* creation. In the miracle of the healing of the daughter of the Canaanite woman he shows that his blessing is for the whole world!
