I am digging around in the areas of discernment in the life of the Christian community and will be posting more on this later but the one key fact that I keep coming back to is that discernment takes time, it is tough, it is in the realm of true discipleship, and these are all qualities that are harder and harder to build into people's lives in this day and age. How do we create space for true discernment within the Christian community when we barely have time to know who we are in relationship to our Creator?

No doubt. Church is caught between trying to be a counter-cultural community and the actual, cultural lives of real people with jobs, schedules, and their OTHER communities (social, sports, family, etc.).
How do we be the body of Christ together without simply sloppin' it on the ToDo list of the faithful?
